Praful Mehta
Vamstar, CEO
Praful Mehta is a serial entrepreneur operating at the critical intersection of healthcare, data science, commercialisation, and technology. He is the co-founder and CEO of Vamstar, pioneering an AI-powered platform that transforms how healthcare organisations and suppliers discover, engage, and transact globally.
Under his leadership since 2019, Vamstar has become a leading global AI-powered B2B commercialisation and procurement platform for the lifesciences industry.
Praful brings over 23 years of experience in market access, pricing, procurement, product management, and sales across the lifesciences ecosystem. He previously served as Senior Partner at IHS Markit, where he was the global head of strategy for the lifesciences division, building their market access and pricing platform for the industry.
His career includes leadership roles at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson, where he developed expertise in commercial strategy, pricing excellence, and product development.
Praful has been a trusted advisor to Fortune Global 500 companies, SMEs, startups, governments, trade associations, and chambers of commerce on GTM strategies, technology commercialisation, market reform, and policy-level changes.
His extensive project experience spans BRIC-MT nations, European markets, the United States, and Japan, providing him with a truly global perspective on healthcare market dynamics.
He is a recognised thought leader, frequently featured in various journals, print media, television, blogs, and leadership forums within the lifesciences and technology industries. Throughout his career, Praful has consistently identified technological opportunities to solve complex commercial challenges, creating platforms that deliver measurable value across the healthcare ecosystem.
Richard Charter
Vamstar, Senior Advisor
Richard Charter has over 20 years of experience in financial and health economics including former head of market access and pricing at a major MedTech company, as well as building a market access consulting company.
Richard focuses on market access, commercial strategy and environmental sustainability excellence. Richard has worked on projects across multiple care delivery settings and therapeutic areas including; respiratory, genomics, diabetes, oncology, point-of-care testing, orthopedics, vascular access, drug delivery, amongst others.
Richard has focused on enabling life sciences companies to embed AI into their commercial solutions, to bridge the link between healthcare systems and industry.
Richard is a past-chair of the MedTech Europe Evidence & Payers Working Group, past chair of the ISPOR Medical Device Special Interest Group, and a past Advisor to the EU funded Horizon 2020 COMED initiative on cost and outcomes measurement for medical devices. Currently Richard is active as:
- Co-chair, with NICE, of the HTAi Medical Device Interest Group,
- Chair of the EMIG Environmental Sustainability and Commercial Strategy Interest Group.
- Current member of Institute of Directors, and the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
Richard graduated from SDA Bocconi where he obtained a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Economics and Policy. Richard has also completed the Harvard Business School Intensive Course on Value Based Healthcare and has successfully helped guide various Market Access & Value Based Healthcare (VBHC) pilot projects around Europe.
